외국인 유학생의 범교과적 학문 문식성 측정 연구
본 연구는 외국인 유학생들의 원활한 대학생활 적응 및 성공적인 학업 수행을 위해 ‘범교과적 학문 문식성’ 배양이 필요함을 주장하며, 이들의 ‘범교과적 학문 문식성’을 측정하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 이론적 검토를 통해 외국인 유학 생에게 필요한 다문서·다매체·복합양식 자료를 기반으로 한 ‘범교과적 학문 문 식성’의 개념을 재정의하였다. 그리고 ‘학습자 과제의 요구 인식(계획하기)’, ‘상 호텍스트 모형’, ‘정신 모형’, ‘반론 고려’, ‘학습 결과물 점검(점검하기)’의 네 요 인에 따라 ‘범교과적 학문 문식성’을 측정하였다. 그 결과, 외국인 유학생들은 내 국인 대학생에 비해서는 범교과적 학문 문식성의 평균 점수가 낮게 도출되었다. 그러나 전반적인 관점에서 보았을 때, 자신이 처한 학문적 맥락에서의 과제 표상 에 있어 다양한 자료를 탐색하고 선별하고 있었으며 그 안에서 자신만의 관점을 세우기 위해 노력하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 외국인 유학생들은 내국인 학생 에 비해서는 부족하지만 나름대로 범교과적 학문 문식성에 대한 인식을 갖춘 것 으로 추정할 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 범교과적 학문 문식성이 실제 학문적 과제 수행에서 성공적으로 발현되기 위해서는 다각도의 교육적 처방이 함께 이뤄져야 할 것이다.
A Study on Measuring Interdisciplinary Literacy of Foreign Undergraduate Students
This research examines the measurement of interdisciplinary literacy among foreign undergraduate students studying abroad. The study argues for the importance of cultivating interdisciplinary literacy to facilitate the smooth adaptation and successful academic performance of foreign undergraduate students. The concept of interdisciplinary literacy is redefined based on theoretical considerations and the utilization of multi-textual, multimodal, and hybrid- form materials. Four factors, namely "perception of task demands", "intercontextual model", "mental model", and "consideration of counterarguments", are employed to measure interdisciplinary literacy. The findings indicate that, on average, foreign undergraduate students demonstrate lower scores in interdisciplinary literacy compared to their domestic counterparts. However, a comprehensive analysis reveals that foreign undergraduate students effectively navigate and select diverse materials within their academic contexts, while making efforts to establish their own perspectives. Thus, it can be inferred that foreign undergraduate students possess an awareness of interdisciplinary literacy. However, to ensure the practical manifestation of interdisciplinary literacy in academic tasks, comprehensive educational interventions from various angles are necessary.
