허응당 보우와 장자의 인식론 – 일정(一正)과 제물(齊物) 개념을 중심으로
허응당 보우의 일정론은 이제까지 선교일치와 유불통합의 관점에서 집중적으 로 조명되어 왔다. 특히 학계에서 보우의 일정론은 대개 불교와 유학의 조화를 위한 수단으로 여겨져 왔다. 불교적 가치관을 대변했던 까닭에 보우의 일정론은 불교적 사유를 토대로 유학을 해석하는 도구로서 익숙하게 수용되어 왔던 것이 다. 하지만 본고에서는 보우의 일정론이 지니는 의미를 비단 유불의 관계론으로 만 국한하지 않고 유불도 삼교 회통의 맥락으로까지 적극적으로 확장하였다. 그 리고 보우의 일정론이 지니는 철학적 의의를 도가 사상과의 그것과 비교하였다. 이러한 과정은 대개 유학적 가치와의 비교를 통하여 창출되어 왔던 보우 일정론 의 의의, 그것이 위치한 사상적 지평이 넓어졌음을 시사한다. 본고에서 불교적 사유와 도가적 사유의 접점을 발견하기 위하여 불교적 사유 를 대변하는 논리로서 제시한 것이 보우의 일정론이라면 도가적 사유에 대한 표 상은 장자의 제물론으로써 수립되었다. 그러므로 본고의 주된 목적은 첫째, 허응 당 보우의 일정론과 장자의 제물론을 철학적 맥락에서 비교하고 둘째, 일정론과 제물론의 공통점에 기반하여 불교와 도가 철학의 사상적 가치들을 조명하며 셋 째, 이를 통해 궁극적으로 유불도 삼교 회통의 맥락에서 일정론과 제물론의 의미 를 새로이 발견하는 것이다.
Epistemology in Houungdang Bowoo and Zhuangzi – Focusing on the Concept of Yizheng and Qiwu
Until now, Houungdang(虛應堂) Bowoo(普雨)‘s One Thing Theory(一正論) has been intensively illuminated in terms of Chanjiaoyizhi(禪敎一致) and Rufotonghe(儒佛統合). Especially in academia, Bowoo’s One Thing Theory has usually been regarded as a means of harmonizing Buddhism and Confucianism. Since it represented Buddhist values, Bowoo’s One Thing Theory has been familiarly accepted as a tool for interpreting Confucianism based on Buddhist thoughts. However, in this paper, the meaning of Bowoo’s One Thing Theory was not limited to the Relationship Theory of Confucianism and Buddhism, but was actively expanded to the context of the Thought of the Combination of the Three Religions(儒⋅佛⋅道). In addition, the philosophical significance of Bowoo’s One Thing Theory was compared with that of Taoism. This process usually suggests that the significance of the Bowoo’s One Thing Theory, which has been created through comparison with the Confucianism value, has expanded the ideological horizon where it is located. In this paper, if it is Bowoo’s One Thing Theory that represents Buddhist thinking, the representation of Taoist thinking was established by Zhuangzi’s Qiwulun(齊物論), in order to find the point of contact between Buddhist and Taoist thinking. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is firstly, to compare Houungdang Bowoo’s One Thing Theory and Zhuangzi’s Qiwulun in philosphical context, secondly, to illuminate the ideological values of Buddhism and Taoism based on commonalities of One Thing Theory and Qiwulun, and thirdly, through this, eventually to discover the new meaning of One Thing Theory and Qiwulun, in the context of the Thought of the Combination of the Three Religions.
