이형기 시의 불교사상 연구 ─ 제8시집 『절벽』 간행 이후 시 작품을 중심으로
본 연구는 제8시집 『절벽』발간 이후 여러 문예지에 실린 31편의 시를 대상으 로 이형기 시세계를 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 불교의식을 주제로 삼 아 ‘공사상’과 ‘연기’그리고 ‘진공묘유’라는 내용으로 분석해보았다. 이형기의 시세 계를 분석했던 선행연구 중에서 가장 많이 다루어진 주제는 ‘허무의식’이었다. 그 러나 허무의식으로 총체적인 시세계를 포괄할 수는 없었다. 이에 ‘불교의식’이라 는 주제는 이형기가 동국대학교 불교학과를 진학했다는 점과 불교의식으로 다수 의 평론과 단행본을 발간했다는 점을 상기하여 이형기에게 있어서 불교의식은 떼려야 뗄 수 없는 존재라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 불교의식은 이형기의 시 세계를 총체적으로 포괄할 수 있는 주제의식으로 자리매김할 수 있을 것이라 생 각된다. 본 연구는 이러한 사항을 충족하기 위해 지금까지 논의에서 제외되어 있 던 작품들을 대상으로 분석한 것이다. 이형기의 작품 세계를 살피려면 반드시 시 전반에 관련하여 시 작품과 시론집, 평론집과 기타의 수상집 등을 두루 접해야 한다. 각각의 영역은 시 창작과 시론의 정리와 보완이라는 과정이며 다시 한 번 시를 창작하는 과정으로 수렴되기 때문이다. 따라서 기존 선행 연구들의 범위에 서 누락되어 있는 본 연구는 이형기 시의 총체성 연구라는 작업의 출발점이 될 것이다.
A Study on Buddhist Thought of Lee Hyung ki’s Poems
The purpose of this study is to examine the poems of 31 different poems in various literary magazines since the publication of the 8th poems "Geol-byeok". For this purpose, I analyzed ‘Buddhist thought’ with the theme of 'Emptiness thought', 'The theory of dependent origination' and 'jin-gong-myo-u'. Among the previous researches analyzing precedent study of Lee Hyung Ki, the most dealt with topic was the 'nihilism'. However, it was impossible to encompass a comprehensive market system with a sense of impropriety. The theme of 'Buddhist rituals' was that Lee Hyunggi entered Dongguk University of Buddhism and published a number of reviews and books in Buddhist rituals. Therefore, I think that the Buddhist ritual can be positioned as a theme consciousness that can cover the poetry period of Lee Hyung ki as a whole. This study analyzes the works that have been excluded from the discussions so far in order to fulfill these matters. In order to look at the work world of Lee Hyung Ki, it is necessary to touch about works of poetry, collection of poems, reviews. Each area is a process of organizing and complementing poetry and poetry, and it is converging into the process of creating poetry again. Therefore, this study, which is missing from the scope of previous studies, will be the starting point of the study of totality in Lee Hyung Ki.
