독일 학교의 ‘행복’ 수업 연구
독일에는 ‘행복’이라는 교과목이 정식 커리큘럼의 일부로 채택되어 운영되고 있는 학교들이 있다. 2007년 독일 하이델 베르크에 위치한 빌리- 헬파흐 학교에 서, 당시 교장이었던 에른스트 프리츠-슈베르트와 일련의 전문가 집단에 의해 고 안된 ‘행복’ 수업은 현재 독일 중등학교인 김나지움을 비롯해 100여개 이상의 학 교와 인근 독일어권 국가인 오스트리아와 스위스에서까지 운용되고 있다. 아울 러 행복 교과목의 커리큘럼에 적용할 수 있는 새로운 프로그램들을 제공하고 실 습 자료들을 개발하는 프리츠- 슈베르트 연구소(FSI)에서는 매년 1년 과정의 교 사 재교육 프로그램이 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 독일 학교의 행복수업에 대 해 고찰해보고, 추상적이고 주관적인 개념인 ‘행복’이 학교라는 다소 경직된 교육 플랫폼에서 어떻게 구체적인 방식으로 실현되고 있는지를 제시해보고자 한다.
A Study of ‘Happiness’ Class in German Schools
In Germany, there are schools in which the subject ‘Happiness’ has been adopted and operated as part of the formal curriculum. In 2007, at the Willy-Helfach School in Heidelberg, Germany, the ‘Happiness’ Class designed by then-principal Ernst Fritz-Schubert and a group of experts, is now operating in more than 100 schools in Germany, including the secondary school Gymnasium, and in some schools in Austria and Switzerland. In addition, the Fritz-Schubert Institute(FSI), which provides new programs and develops practical materials that can be applied to the curriculum of happiness subjects, has a one-year teacher retraining program every year. In this paper, I would like to consider the happiness class of German schools and present how the abstract and subjective concept of ‘happiness’ is realized in a concrete way on a rather rigid educational platform called a school.
