중등학령기 다문화가정학생 학업 및 학교적응 사례 분석 - S중학교를 중심으로
최근 중학교와 고등학교로 진학하는 다문화가정학생들이 증가하면서 중등학 령기 다문화가정학생들의 교육문제에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 이들은 유초 등기의 학생들에 비해 정서적으로 사춘기라는 민감한 시기에 있고, 개인적·정서 적 이유뿐만 아니라 한국교육시스템 등의 문제로 인해 학업성취나 학교적응 등 에서도 어려움이 많다. 따라서 본 연구는 중등학령기에 있는 다문화가정학생들 의 학업 및 학교적응 사례를 조사하여 문제점을 분석하였다. 조사결과 중등학령 기의 다문화가정 학생들은 학업과 학교적응에서 여러 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 이 를 분석하여 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화가정학생들에게 한국어능력은 학업과 학교적응 모두에서 중요한 요인으로 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화가정학생들은 일반교과 수업에 있어서 수학･과 학･예체능 등 한국어 의존도가 낮은 과목들은 비교적 잘 따라가고 있었다. 반면, 국어･역사･사회 등과 한국어와 한국 사회문화에 대한 이해의 비중이 높은 과목 들은 어려워하고 있었다. 셋째, 학교적응과 관련하여 다문화가정학생들은 비슷한 처지에 있는 다문화배경 친구들을 중심으로 교우관계를 형성하고 있었다. 넷째, 학교적응에 있어서 교사에게 많은 것을 의존하고 있었다.
A Case Study Analysis on Academic Work and School Adjustment of Middle School Students from Multicultural Families – Focusing on S Middle School
As the number of students from multicultural families who entered middle and high school has increased, the interest in educational problems of middle school students from multicultural families has been growing. They’re emotionally sensitive adolescent compared with preschoolers and elementary school students and had difficulties in academic achievement and school adjustment due to problems of Korean education system as well as personal and emotional reasons. Therefore, the study aimed to examine case about the academic work and school adjustment of the middle school students from multicultural families and analyze problems. The research findings showed that the middle school students from multicultural families had several difficulties in the academic work and school adjustment. They can be summarized as follows. First, the Korean fluency was important element in the academic work and school adjustment for the students from multicultural families. Second, the students from multicultural families relatively followed well, especially subjects with low dependence in Korean such as math, science and art, music and physical education when taking lesson of general subjects. However, they found it difficult to learn the subjects that place great emphasis on understanding Korean society and culture such as Korean language, Korean history and society. Third, they have built relationship with other similar students from multicultural families. Fourth, they relied on teachers a lot for the school adjustment.
